Mumbles has been sold. The new owners are re-purposing the property and our last guests were farewelled in February; it is fitting that these included our most regular supporters. Over the 8½ years of its operation we have been able to welcome just under 850 couples and small families who shared our small slice of paradise for a few days, and seem to have forged a lot of happy memories here. About 10% of them came back for a second serve; some of our regulars stayed with us up to 10 times. We have had numerous birthdays and anniversaries, quite a few engagements and honeymoons that we know of, and doubtless a few conceptions! For the overwhelming part our guests have been wonderful people; we have loved sharing the occasional bonfire and bottle of red with some of you, and respected the privacy of those who just wanted each other's company. Mumbles has collected nearly two hundred 5 star reviews on platforms including Google, Trip Advisor, Airbnb, Facebook and, not to mention 4 guest books filled with generous feedback. We only ever banned 4 guests; the ones who found out about it still gave us a 3 star review.

At some point it was inevitable that we had to downsize. We feel that the time has probably arrived, and leave with very mixed emotions for retirement in suburbia, but with many happy memories of our time at Mumbles. To all of you we offer our heartfelt thanks for your support; we are sorry to disappoint those who had bookings or vouchers we have had to cancel, and those who may have wanted to come or to come back. We hope you find somewhere nice for your future getaways, even if it's not quite the same as Mumbles!
